Whole-garlic buying guide
Use this checklist to describe what you need and review the supplier’s response. KANYU is a Canadian market contact point for the Kaisheng garlic supply line.
Product details to discuss
- Whole bulbs
- China-origin, normal white garlic with the skin on. State your preferred appearance and acceptable defect limits.
- Bulb diameter
- Previously discussed ranges include 5.0–5.5 cm and 5.5–6.0 cm. Specify your preferred grade and measurement method.
- Bulk packing
- Discuss 10 kg bulk and the outer packing your business requires.
- Retail mesh packs
- Discuss 20 × 500 g, labels and outer packing. Previous supplier responses used an outer mesh bag; a carton and pallet layout need separate confirmation.
These are previously discussed options. Availability and final specifications require written confirmation.
Prepare your enquiry
Start with your company, email and garlic requirement. Add the following details when you know them.
- Quantity & frequency
- Use cases, pallets or metric tonnes. Include a trial quantity and likely repeat volume if known.
- Destination & timing
- Provide your receiving city, province and preferred arrival window.
- Sample request
- Explain what you want to evaluate, the quantity and destination. Confirm availability, cost and shipping before dispatch.
- Handling & labels
- Include pallet, unloading, storage, label-language and barcode requirements.
Review the product documents
- Product & packing: request a current specification sheet and photographs for the proposed supply.
- Lot & labels: identify the supplier, product and lot, and confirm the information required on the packing.
- Testing & certification: name the document you need and check its issuer, scope, dates and product or lot coverage.
- Shipment records: agree who provides the documents and handles import clearance and delivery.
Documents must be checked against the proposed product, supplier and shipment.
Review the written terms
Confirm the product, packing, quantity, currency, price, validity, payment terms and delivery point. Identify the seller and payment recipient.
Agree who handles freight, import clearance, duties, taxes, inland delivery and quality claims before placing an order.
