Website guide · Repair & installation businesses in Canada

Is a one-page website enough for your service business?

Start with what customers need to know: your services, the areas you cover, examples of your work and how to contact you. This guide explains the basic one-page scope, when you may need more and what to prepare.

01

When one page fits

One page can bring together a focused set of services, project photos and contact details. It can be a starting point when customers mainly need to understand the work you do and contact you by phone or email.

KANYU's basic one-page scope

  • One static page in one agreed language, with up to six content sections.
  • Mobile and desktop layouts.
  • One primary contact method: a phone or email link, agreed in the scope.
  • One consolidated round of in-scope content and design revisions, submitted by the agreed approver.
  • Website source files, an operating guide and first-launch assistance.

The revision list can cover several parts of the page. Fixing build errors does not use this round. Fees, taxes, payment stages, timing and support are agreed in writing before work starts.

A website does not guarantee search rankings, enquiries or sales.

02

Already have a website or Google Business Profile?

First check whether your current channels cover what you need. If they already explain your services, show your work and make contact easy, you may not need a new website.

If you have a website, send the URL, the platform and what you want to change. We check whether it can be updated and identify any rebuild work or additional features in the proposal.

A separate website may help when you need room for more service information or project photos, or one address you can share with customers. Start by showing us what you already use.

03

When you need more than the basic page

Separate service pages, a second language or different content for different customers need another agreed scope. Describe the information each customer needs before deciding how many pages to build.

Booking, payments, a visual editing system and external integrations are outside the basic static-page service. Forms, photography, domain, hosting, maintenance and ad management are also quoted separately.

If you need to change content frequently yourself, tell us before the scope is agreed. Receiving source files does not mean the website includes an editing system; code changes may need technical help.

04

What to prepare

For a first enquiry, tell us about your business, service area and what you need. Include an existing URL if you have one. Finished copy and photos can follow, and an undecided budget is fine.

Yikang follows up by email to discuss the requirements, language, timing and budget. Once the scope is agreed, the materials list covers:

Services and areas
The work you offer, where you provide it and any limits customers need to know.
Copy and photos
Business information and photos you have permission to publish, with their sources. Any copy preparation or translation is identified in the scope.
Contact and language
The agreed website language and main contact method. Project discussions and feedback can be in English or Chinese.
Approver and accounts
The person who confirms the content and accepts the work, plus your current domain and hosting providers if you have them. Do not send account passwords in the first enquiry.

You hold the domain and compatible hosting account. Third-party fees and launch arrangements are agreed before work starts, and the first-draft date is confirmed once the agreed materials are complete.

05

How the project works

An enquiry is not an order. Work starts after written agreement on scope, fees, payment stages and timing, and after the agreed initial payment.

Agree on the content
Confirm the page sections, copy, service areas and approved photos.
Review the design
Check the mobile and desktop previews. The agreed approver sends one consolidated list of in-scope content and design changes.
Build and check
Complete the page, check layouts, links and contact details, and fix issues found during testing.
Launch and hand over
With your authorisation, we help with the first launch and check the live address. You receive the agreed files, instructions and check records for acceptance against the scope.

The basic project includes one content and design revision round in total. Build errors are handled separately; added content, features and ongoing support need separately agreed scope, fees and timing.

What you receive

Sample handoff checklist — not a record of a client delivery.

At acceptance, check the approved content, phone and desktop layouts, links and contact details. Record any fixes and confirm acceptance against the written scope.

  1. Website files

The agreed page, styles, scripts and assets, with a version and opening instructions.

  2. Asset and licence list

Sources, permissions and usage limits for images and fonts. Third-party assets remain subject to their licences.

  3. Operating guide

File structure, live address, domain and hosting accounts, and third-party renewal details.

  4. Check records

The phone and desktop sizes checked, content and link results, and issues resolved.

  5. First-launch assistance

Publish with your authorisation to your compatible static-hosting account and check the live address. Domain and hosting fees are separate.

The basic service has no automatically renewing maintenance. You can pass the files to another technical provider or send us a change list for a separate scope and quote. If you need an enquiry form, its receiving service, account and fees must also be agreed.

Read about changes after launch.

The garage door example shows services, door options, service areas and contact details. It is a fictional business, not a client project, and its images are AI illustrations. KANYU does not provide garage door repairs and the example does not accept repair enquiries.

Send your business details or an existing URL to discuss a similar website. We clarify the requirements by email, then agree on scope, fees and timing.
